Started as a folder named "Motion Pixels" referring to motion pictures experts group or mpeg file format I started collecting videos especially movies as soon as i got my very first Flash Disk Drive in 2008 (1GB at that time) saying goodbye to diskettes (because that is where we still use on our school by the time I got into college).
Movies quickly piled up as sharing of files became easier with the school slowly upgrading it computers ditching out floppy disk drives in favor of the latest hardware.
I ended up running out of disk space and started burning it on CD's and DVD's ~ later larger capacity flash drive had been introduced as the introduction of bluray videos, to make story short I have to upgrade my hardware too.
Few years have passed and I learn this so-called "database" where you can store more data and got an idea to make a record where I will log the title and other information about a certain movie.
I thought It would be cool to see the exact date where I watched that movie and how long have passed since I watched that.
So I first created a database in Microsoft Access just a few columns and later grew and grew to a more detailed information.
I did not manage to record when is the exact date I have started my database because I didn't expect I will be this serious in the future.
But based on the properties of my Microsoft Access File its creation date and time is on July 24, 2013 09:32:38 (Wednesday).
And by the time I have learned how to create a simple website I decided that from that day I will manage my movie database via web browser so I migrated my database from MS Access to an SQL (Structured Query Language) file.
On October 10, 2015 I started creating an offline website using CodeIgniter dedicated for my movie(s) database with zero knowledge on how deal with that framework.
Fortunately internet is my teacher and after successfully figured out how to fetch and display entries from database ~ October 13, 2015 Ferutopia is officially born.
I made version 1.1.0 as a simple CRUD and has simple search feature just to be able to record new entries easily.
From that day the numbers of features grew even more as time goes by, and still adding feature(s) up until now If I come up with something.
I do have plans to basically change the whole user interface in version 2.0.0
